Emergency services, including air ambulance service and firefighters, were called to the building opposite Technic Stadium on Sheffield Road just before 8:30pm.
Five people were reportedly injured, including the driver of the car. One person was taken to hospital and is in serious condition.
A witness who was in Glass Yard, on Sheffield Road, said a car drove through a window and people were evacuated from shops in the area.
Dust and smoke filled the dining hall as staff asked customers to urgently leave the building before an ambulance landed nearby.
The Batch House, which contains a bar area, ice cream parlour, and artisan bakers, said it plans to reopen on Sunday (August 7).
A spokesperson for the venue said: “An accident occurred at Patch House after a car crashed into the side of the building, and several people were injured.
“Because of this incident, we are taking the time to take care of our vendors, staff and customers and they will be closed on Saturday. Our main priority now is to check the health of everyone who attended Batch House Friday night and make sure everyone is okay before we reopen our doors on Sunday.
“If you are at Batch House on a Friday night, please send us any information or inquiries you have and we will call you back in the next few days. We know a few of you have already messaged us, we have seen these messages and will get back to you as soon as possible.”
A police spokesman said: “Investigations are ongoing and although the investigation is still early, officers do not believe the collision was an intentional act.
Officers are supporting the injured and their families at this time.
“We’d love to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, or who might have dashcam footage that can help with our inquiries.”
