Matt Goss‘ best friend has slammed the judging panel Strictly Come Dancingand claim that there is no correlation in their scores.

Rob Ferguson described the Bros singer’s scores as ‘nonsensical’ and ‘inexplicable’ after the live show this weekend.

After Matt and partner Nadiya Bychkova danced another Viennese waltz routine Lady Gaga‘s Hold My Hand from the Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack, the judges were less than impressed.

Craig Revel Horwood gave Matt his lowest score yet (a miserable 3/10), while Shirley Ballas awarded him a 5/10. Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke gave higher scores of 6 and 7/10 respectively.

The total of 21 saw the artist drop to the bottom three based on the judges’ results, but he was saved by the public vote and avoided Sunday’s dance-off.

One of Matt’s biggest fans, best friend Rob, is not happy: ‘There is no correlation and no correlation between comments and votes. I’m losing faith in the legitimacy of the BBC’s Strictly.’

Talking to The mirrorhe continued: ‘I can’t reconcile Craig’s declining scores for Matt from week 1 – 5, 4, 3. There’s no doubt he’s improved.’

Rob said Matt carried on in a way that is ‘extremely dignified’, adding that ‘he’s just digging in like the trooper that he is’.

Matt survived the chop the following week ends up in the bottom twoand partner Nadiya hailed him as a completely ‘different person’.

This week, Matt avoided the dance-off that led to Richie Anderson and his partner Giovani Pernice being controversially eliminated from the show in just the third week.

Judge Anton praised Matt for his ‘huge’ week-on-week improvement, but it wasn’t enough to convince Craig and Shirley to give him a higher grade.

Fans on social media were quick to jump to Matt’s defense after his performance, applauding his continued improvement from week one.

‘Really don’t care what the judges think, I loved it!’ one fan commented, while another viewer said: ‘Matt is trying hard to do his best on Strictly and as a huge Bros fan back in the 80s I want him to do well!’

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.
