Seth Meyers points to the red flag that showed the January 6 plan was “really F**king Insane”

You know your plan is “really crazy” while Rudy Giuliani thinks it’s a bad idea, according to “Late Night” host Seth Meyers.

In its third of six hearings, the House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol attack painted a picture last week of how John Eastman, Donald Trump’s attorney, helped the then-president craft a plan to scrap the 2020 election by using Vice President Mike Pence.

The panel played testimony from Eric Hirschman, Trump’s former lawyer and adviser, who said he received a call on the morning of January 6 from Giuliani, Trump’s personal attorney at the time. Hirschman said Giuliani eventually conceded that Pence may not have had the authority to do what Trump and Eastman were suggesting.

“It’s so unbelievable to me that even Rudy knew it was a crazy, bad idea,” Myers said Monday. “Rudy. That’s how you know your plan is really crazy. This is a guy who, while undergoing multiple investigations, thought it was a good idea to shoot a video with an Abraham Lincoln filter. That same guy looked at John Eastman’s plan and said, ‘I don’t know.'”

After Pence refused to comply, a mob of Trump supporters laid siege to the Capitol, some chanting for his execution. At one point, a rioting mob was within 40 feet of Pence inside the Capitol.
