‘But by the fifth time I think I hit the mark – everyone was terrible with celebrities; it was part of the zeitgeist,’ he said.

During a performance at Today with Hoda & Jennahe explained: ‘I’d get canceled halfway through,’ he joked as he practically appeared on the morning show.

‘They would never let me do what I wanted. That’s why the Globes got me,” he continued to explain. ‘They said I can write my own jokes and say whatever I want without rehearsals. The Academy Awards never would. And if the Academy Awards said so, I would do it, but it would never happen.’
