Strictly Come Dancing presenter Claudia Winkelman reportedly apologized after suggesting that Ben Cohen and Christina Ryhanoff meet when they were partners on the BBC show in 2013.
The couple are in an affair and share their daughter Melina together, and she was plagued by rumors of a stern curse when Ben’s marriage to his wife Abby ended.
Ben and Christina always insisted that their relationship didn’t begin until a year after they participated in Strictly Come Dancing.
While appearing on the final episode of The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan on Channel 4, Claudia touched upon the couple’s romance.
“The couple I know met together are Ben and Christina,” Claudia reportedly said on stage at the West London Television Centre.
According to the Daily Mail, when Christina learned of Claudia’s “lies”, she threatened legal action and called the 50-year-old presenter.
Claudia is believed to have since apologized and said: “[I] I’m so sorry. I thought the question was about who found love so long ago [via Strictly].
‘I said, Ben and Christina, excitedly, and then I said Stacey and Kevin [referring to TV presenter Stacey Dooley and former Strictly pro Kevin Clifton, who have been dating since 2019, after being paired together on the show in 2018]. “
Claudia reportedly added, “Very sorry, I’m a moron. It was a two-second moment.”
The Mirror has contacted both Claudia and Christina’s representatives seeking comment, as well as Channel 4.
