An NHS nurse was a poisoner at work who murdered seven babies and tried to kill ten others by sabotaging their treatment, a court was told.
Lucy Letby, 32, was the “constant malevolent presence” at the Countess of Chester Hospital’s neonatal unit when babies began collapsing in unexplained circumstances, the prosecution told Manchester Crown Court yesterday.
It is alleged that 28 hours after killing a two-day-old boy, Letby, from Hereford, tried to murder his twin sister. The court was also told she had stalked the families of her alleged victims on Facebook.
