Director of “Saghira Amal” on hope and the importance of refugees – Channel 4 news

Today marks World Refugee Day, and from Afghanistan to Ukraine, conflicts, financial disasters and environmental crises have forced nearly 25 million people from their homes.

Artistic director Amir Nizar Al-Zoubi is an award-winning Palestinian theater director who created Little Amal, a doll of a nine-year-old refugee child who traveled to England from Turkey.

Amal means hope in Arabic, and the doll has now moved thousands of miles around the world to support refugees.
