Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander to stand trial for stalking after her wedding ‘smashed’ | Ents & Arts News

A California judge has concluded that there is enough evidence against Britney Spears’ ex-husband — who showed up unannounced at her Los Angeles home and attempted to wreck her wedding to Sam Asgari — to appear in court for stalking.

Jason Alexander has previously pleaded not guilty to the charges as well as trespassing, battery and vandalism.

Court records showed, in a two-hour preliminary hearing on Monday, that Ventura County Judge David Worley ruled that the 40-year-old should be detained to answer the charges.

Security guard Richard Opler told the court that Alexander entered Spears’ home and tried to enter her bedroom, which she was locked inside at the time, according to multiple media reports.

Alexander confronted and were said to have come into conflict.

He said Alexander also tried to enter the property in the days leading up to the wedding.

Spears, 40, and partner fitness trainer Asgari, 28, married in an intimate ceremony in California on June 9 in front of dozens of guests including Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton and Madonna.

Alexander posted an Instagram story live on the day from outside Spears’ home in which he said he was there to “smash” the wedding, before he was caught by police and taken to a local jail.

His attorney, Sandra Bisignani, said there was no evidence that he intended to harm Spears.

He remains held on $100,000 bail until the next court hearing on July 12.

Alexander, a childhood friend of Spears, married the singer briefly in 2004 and he was her first husband.

However, the union was abolished three days later.

Spears and Asghari met on the video set for her 2016 song Slumber Party and got engaged in September 2021 as it looked like their sponsorship was about to end.

The controversial legal arrangement that controlled her life and finances has been terminated by the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Spears was previously married to Kevin Federline, with whom she shares teenage sons Sean and Jayden.
