Boy, 15, arrested in shooting of teen Shantasia O’Brien: NYPD

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested for killing a 17-year-old girl in a car in Queens, police said Sunday.

Police said Shantasia O’Brien was shot in the back around 5 p.m. Friday while she was in front of 240-06 136 Ave. Close to Brookville Boulevard in Rosedale.

Police arrested the 15-year-old shooting suspect on Saturday and charged him with manslaughter, criminal possession of a second-degree weapon and tampering with physical evidence, police said. Police said his name was not released because he was a juvenile.

Police were unable to determine whether the shooting was accidental or premeditated.

Police said EMS took Shantasia to a Jamaica hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
